Gratitude & Resilience: Best wishes for the festive season from Worklogic

This year at Worklogic, the team hit the ground running as we navigated our way through the second pandemic year and one of busiest years on record. Our fantastic staff displayed grit, resilience, determination and good humour as they dealt with the challenges that emerged as we all returned to normal. Worklogic Directors,  Jodie Fox and Jason Clark reflect on the year and talk about their hopes for 2023.

As this year’s holiday season approaches (a lot quicker than usual), it is important to pause and again acknowledge the resilience of our employees and express my thanks for all their hard work and good humour during a year which still presented new challenges as we settled into the new way of work. Throughout the year, all of our team have remained dedicated, focused and have adapted while still staying positive and motivated. I would like to personally thank our team and their families who support them throughout the year for all their hard work. I also want to express my gratitude to our clients for providing us the opportunity to share our wisdom with you and to assist you to manage the issues you have faced throughout the year. We look forward to building on those relationships in the new year.

This was a big year for Worklogic and there is so much I am proud of: We welcomed our newest Worklogician, Jennifer Porter, who heads up our Perth office, we delivered more training than ever to organisations intent on maintaining workplaces free of bullying and harassment, our mediations practice grew, and we sponsored our first conference. These are all significant achievements for our growing consultancy in the wake of the last two very challenging years. 2023 is going to be just as busy and I am excited for some of the projects we have on the whiteboard. Stay tuned.

To our subscribers, thank you for taking the time to be part of our community; but like us, take the time now to reflect on the year and celebrate your successes as a team or an organisation. Showing gratitude is part of a healthy culture and paves the way for 2023. Enjoy the Christmas and New Year holiday season and I wish you and your family all the very best. See you in 2023!

-Jason Clark, Worklogic Director

For me, 2022 has been a year of growth, with all of the benefits and growing pains that come with that. Workplaces across the country took tentative steps toward what stable hybrid work will actually look like and found themselves grappling with questions about workplace culture and what it takes to build and maintain culture outside of everyone simply being in the same building. Employers are also continuing to take slow and painful steps towards recognising the extent and damage the harassment in the workplace has on our employee’s ability to contribute their whole selves at work.  We’ve seen some really clear examples of the toll on individual complainants during investigations and started to think about what the alternatives might be to complainant-led culture change. The conversation around workplace culture is moving fast and it’s exciting to see more voices contributing to this.

It has been an enormous year, and I would like to extend my thanks to all of our wonderful clients and supporters at Worklogic. You are all good-hearted and thoughtful folk, willing to be part of the conversation about how we make great places to work and I have enjoyed the many examples, questions and open discussions we have had on this topic this year.

Worklogic’s consultants and staff make the world go around. Worklogic has added to our magnificent staff and each brings with them a wealth of experience, intelligence, empathy and common sense that makes us so proud of them. You are all wonderful examples of our values: accountable, open-minded, collaborative, good, fiercely independent, wise and joyous and I want to thank each one of you.

After such a big year of growth and change, rest and relaxation is necessary. We are closing our office between 21 December 2022 and 9 January 2023 and we will be back on deck in the new year ready to help solve the problems and continue with our mission to help employers create great places to work.

Wishing you a fabulous holiday season and a joyous new year.

-Jodie Fox, Worklogic Director
