Integrity Line - Dealing With Concerning Behaviour In The Workplace

In today’s business environment, the effective management of risk and the organisation’s ethical culture are fundamental to its value proposition.
Internal whistleblowing systems are an essential part of workplace misconduct risk management and compliance strategy. When provided by an employer, they demonstrate transparency and commitment to best practice in employee engagement and occupational health and safety, and enable the company to manage risks and to minimise the costs of workplace misconduct.
These costs are not insignificant. For example, a bullying incident that then turns into litigation can cost upwards of $337,800 in direct and indirect costs (see ‘Ignoring The Risks Of Misconduct: What Does It Really Cost?’). Research demonstrates that the indirect costs of absenteeism, lost productivity and recruitment costs for replacement employees can run into hundreds of thousands of dollars as a result of misconduct by an individual.
- Worklogic has established a secure and confidential forum for employees, and other stakeholders of our clients, to register concerns about behaviour they experience or witness in the workplace.
- Concerns can be registered by name or anonymously using Integrity Line’s telephone service (1800 468 456) or online reporting system (www.integrityline.com.au).
- All calls will be taken by workplace consultants with extensive training in complaints-handling, privacy and confidentiality, data security, ethics and whistleblower protection.
- Concerns registered with Integrity Line are then promptly directed to designated personnel at the employer company, with recommendations as to possible action to be taken.
- For more information about how Integrity Line works, see: www.integrityline.com.au
Our experience is that the earlier a concern is dealt with, the better the outcome for all concerned. Integrity Line allows action to be taken as soon as a concern is raised.
